Our Recommended School Curriculum

A CLASSIC EDUCTATION

We advocate that high school students each semester select a curriculum of courses that represent the classic approach to education:

1. MATH Classes with titles like, Algebra, Geometry, Trigonometry, Calculus, but not mixed up "new" math classes like "Integrated Math.”

2. SCIENCE Classes with titles like, Chemistry, Physics, Biology, etc.

3. LITERATURE Classes with titles like, Composition, Grammar, Literature, English, Writing.

4. HISTORY Classes with titles like, History, World Events, Economics.

5. LANGUAGE French, Spanish, Arabic, Japanese, etc.

6. MUSIC Piano, Flute, Saxophone, etc.

We strongly advise against students taking the "easy way out" by taking non-classic classes, like Office Help, Work Study, Accounting, Business, Jewelry, Cosmetology... the names of such classes are endless. We advise against convoluted classes with names like, "Integrated Math." And we advise against schools that focus on particular subjects, like Health Sciences, Engineering, or Journalism. We believe that the classical education prepares people for everything, including things that they can't even yet imagine.

Please read, "The SAT and US," to learn how we integrate SAT training with the Classic Curriculum.
