THE SAT AND US
We are not an SAT preparation program. We are an academic program. We target not the SAT, but rather the essential academic topics that form the basis of a "classic" education, an enterprise that enables humans to excel in all intellectual endeavors. The SAT also covers these basic topics, especially the "New" SAT. We use these topics to train students for better grades in school and better SAT scores. This process takes time, several semesters usually, depending on how well students are mastering these basic topics in school. STUDENTS WHO DO NOT LEARN THESE BASIC TOPICS CANNOT TRICK THE SAT INTO AWARDING THEM A HIGH SCORE!

THE "NEW" SAT (2400 Points Total) =

I. CRITICAL READING SECTION (800 Points Total)
1.
Reading Comprehension: Short and Long Passages.
2.
Vocabulary: Sentence Completions.

II. WRITING SECTION (800 Points Total)
3.
Grammar (new)
4.
Essay Writing (new)

III. MATH SECTION (800 Points Total)
1.
Numbers
2.
Algebra
3.
Geometry (more advanced concepts than before)
4.
Probability

We recommend that students take ONLY the SAT, and NOT take the ACT. The SAT covers fewer topics (and thus is easier to master), and while ALL universities accept the SAT, SOME universities do not accept the ACT. We think that students should focus their efforts on just one test, rather than spread their efforts over two tests. Students still need time for their classes, sports, and goofing-off, right?

We recommend that students take the SAT only ONCE... and after they have taken old copies of it several times in practice. We do not understand why anybody would pay money to take this test officially several times and clutter their college application data. Don't take the test officially "just to see" what (lousy) score you'll get!

Yes, the SAT is "culturally biased"! If you fail to include reading, writing, math, and science in your culture, your SAT score will reveal this deficiency. But if you include those concepts in your culture, with a little practice, your SAT score will provide the world evidence of your hard-won brilliance.
