Session 1 Special Instructions for Math Basics Classes

1. Coach-Student introductions.

2. Book Check.
At the Family Conference, students should have received, "Math the Easy Way". Distribution of books to students who failed to attend Family Consultation.

3. Binder Check.
Sudent Binders (three-ring binder provided by student) should contain:
Student's Graded Baseline/Registration Math Assessment Test. Students took this test at whatever Registration Session that they attended (or at home), and got it returned graded to them at their Family Consultation. Coach will distribute to Students who failed to attend the Family Consultation.
Solution to Sample Math Assessment Test. Students recieved a copy of this at the their Family Consultation (or they downloaded it). They also received instructions to use these Solutions to the Sample Assessment Test to figure out how to solve the problems that they missed on their Baseline Assessment Test. Coaches and Students will use the Sample Solutions to guide their approach to solving all problems during the semester. Coach will distribute to Students who failed to attend the Family Consultation.

Home Work. At the Family Consultation (or via email), students recieved instructions to re-solve certain problems from their Baseline Assessment Test, and to do so on the front-side (only) of notebook paper, EXACTLY as demonstrated for similar problems in the Solution to Sample Math Assessment Test..
