Important Information about our
ACADEMIC SESSIONS
ATTENDANCE & Other Requirements:
1. Students must attend ALL
sessions. Students who miss any session
will miss vital, intensive activities essential to maximum results. We waste no
time in our classes. Students who miss three Class Sessions cannot continue with
the semester.
2. Students must participate EXACTLY as instructed, according to our "Riot Act." Or,
they must leave our midst. We will not have time to call you if we
dismiss an uncooperative, unenthusiastic student. If you feel that your
student's maturity level precludes unattended banishment, DO NOT LEAVE
YOUR STUDENT UNATTENDED! We do not guarantee guardianship of unattended
students.
3. CLASS MATERIALS Students must bring these to every class.
4. Students should not and must not miss one of our sessions to TAKE THE SAT or ACT! You
will know from our assessment test if your Student is prepared for the
SAT/ACT. If your Student is not prepared for those tests, why on earth
would you miss one of our Sessions to go bomb the very test for which
we prepare your Student? If you already paid for one of those tests,
you'll waste your money twice taking an unprepared student who is
missing an activity that will improve test scores!
5. Unattended Students: Our staff members leave at the end of the session, even if unattended students remain... just like at a high school!
6. Read 20 Pages a day
(100 a week) of a High School- or College-level book. Part of
Attendances. Students, ensure that you read 100 pages the week prior to
the first class day, and every week thereafter.
7. BANNED ITEMS
NO CELL PHONES Parents, you
can call you students during class, BUT THEY CANNOT ANSWER. They cannot
excuse themselves to answer or make phone calls.
NO EARPHONES Students must hide their various music devices deep inside bookbags.
NO VIDEO/CELL/CALCULATOR GAMES We must not even SEE these things. Hide them!
8. NO STARING OUT THE WINDOW ...or
staring at walls, floors, desks, space. We require full participation
at all times, just like at track or basketball practice.
9. BREAKS Our
classes break for 15 minutes about halfway during class. Students
during this time may make cell phone calls or go downstairs to the vending machines AND
THEN QUICKLY RETURN. No "chilling out" downstairs waiting for the break to
end. We have serious business to attend, and no time to track down
pockets of students throughout the building to inform them that the
break has ended. WHEN THE BREAK ENDS STUDENTS MAY NOT initiate new
cell phone calls or a fresh run downstairs for more junk food. DO NOT ASK STAFF OR COACHES FOR CHANGE! Our staff members are not change machines. They do not have time to spend fielding requests from hungry, cash-laden students.
